Today, we have placed a new memorial 'headstone' at Mark's grave, to help cheer things a little and help identify the spot. The memorial is made from slabs of 20mm thick perspex, with a thin, printed slide sealed inside (pictures in gallery), held down by a large staple and a 'shepherd's crook', topped with a bird silhouette and lots of fluttery ribbons for tail feathers (same as the ribbons at the roadside). Attached to the 'crook' is the last item Mark asked for, just days before we lost him - a miniature dream catcher, the same colour as The Beast's flames; it took some finding, but we finally got one for him! For nocturnal visitors, the memorial should glow nicely from the light cast from a pair of solar-powered nightlights. Whichever angle you approach Mark from, he smiles at you - even after dark... The addition gave us all wet eyes; we hope everyone likes it.
